FAQ

Short answers to common questions from shoppers and from furniture stores about what Leitagu does, what is real today and what is planned.

Updated 16 October 2026View as Markdown

Short answers to the questions shoppers and furniture stores ask most often about Leitagu. Each answer says what is true today and, where relevant, what is planned. Longer explanations are linked from each answer.

For shoppers

What is Leitagu?

A web app that helps you find furniture from Estonian stores that goes with what you already have, fits your room and is available when you need it. You chat, answer a few questions, and get matching products with a reason for each match. See How it works.

Does Leitagu sell furniture?

No. Leitagu has no checkout and takes no orders. "Open in store" takes you to the store's own product page, and you buy there.

Are the products real?

Not yet. All products, prices, stock levels and delivery times in the app are example data, and each product is marked "Example product". Real products will come from stores that connect their product data to Leitagu; the connections are built, but no store has connected yet.

Which stores are included?

The example data uses the names of real Estonian stores (Aatrium, Home4You, IKEA, JYSK and Sotka) to make the prototype realistic, but none of them has supplied or approved any data. Which stores are included for real depends on which agree to share data.

Does it cost anything?

There is no charge and no payment step in the app. How Leitagu will earn money has not been decided; see Why join Leitagu.

Do I need an account?

Today, yes: sign up with an email address and a password. The plan is that searching works without an account, and sign-in is asked for only when it adds value, such as saving favourites or setting alerts.

Which languages does Leitagu speak?

Estonian and English, and you can switch at any time. Whether to add Russian is an open question.

Can I search with a photo?

Yes, when the Claude connection is turned on. Send a photo of a room or of a single piece. Leitagu turns it into a room with the furniture it recognised, and you tap a piece to search for things that match it. Each person can send up to 20 photos an hour. Without the Claude connection, start from a room template instead.

What happens to my photo?

Your browser shrinks it, and it is sent to Claude, Anthropic's AI model, for analysis. The app keeps a small thumbnail in the chat, not the full photo.

How do I get the most accurate colour from a photo?

Put a sheet of white paper in the photo and take it in daylight. Leitagu uses the paper to correct the colours and tells you when it did. See the Shopper guide.

Why does a piece look different in the store than on screen?

Screens, cameras and light all change how wood looks, and Leitagu says so on every results list. For an exact tone, use "See it in a store first" to find where the piece is on display, or order a sample from the store if it offers one.

Why is a product over my budget or size limit shown?

It is a near miss: at most 12% over a limit. Leitagu shows a few of them last, under "Slightly over your limits", with exactly how much they are over. Everything else respects your limits.

What does "Match 82%" mean?

How closely the product matches the look you are searching for, across tone, undertone, colour, wood, material, finish, style, legs, handles and fronts. Only attributes known for both are compared. 75% and up is "Very close", 50–74% is "Close". See How matching works.

What does "Wood-look foil, not real wood" mean?

The product is a printed film or laminate (kile, laminaat) on a board, made to look like wood. It can look like solid wood or veneer in a photo, but it is a different material.

Why are there no store photos?

The example products have no photos, so their cards show a 3D rendering built from the product's attributes. When a store's product data includes an image link, the card shows that image, loaded from the store's own website. Using stores' photos needs their permission, which is not settled yet.

Can I trust "take it home today"?

The filter itself is strict: a product that isn't in stock in your city is not shown. But today the stock data is example data, and in real life stock changes during the day. Confirm with the store before you go.

Can I get an alert when a price drops?

Not yet. Email alerts for price drops, new matches and items back in stock are planned. Today the Favourites page shows how a saved product's price has changed since you saved it.

Can I share a room or a list with my partner?

Not yet. Shared lists with votes and comments are planned for after the beta.

Leitagu says there is no free space in my room. Why?

Check the room's measurements, windows, doors and furniture in the room editor; suggestions use these numbers. Also note that the room model has only two walls, the back wall and the left wall.

Can I delete my account?

Not from the app yet. The server can delete an account together with its rooms, chats and favourites, but the button for it is not built.

Does Leitagu get paid by the stores it shows?

Not today. Nothing paid affects ranking. If commercial arrangements are added later, they will be disclosed, and ranking will never be influenced by commission without clear disclosure.

For stores

How does Leitagu send us customers?

Shoppers search in Leitagu by look, size, budget and timing, and often try the piece in a 3D view of their own room. When they choose a product, "Open in store" takes them to your product page. See Why join Leitagu.

Are our products in Leitagu?

No real store products are in Leitagu yet. The example data uses real store names to make the prototype realistic, but the products, prices, stock and delivery times are invented and labelled as example data. A store's real products appear once it connects its data in the partner app.

What does it cost to be included?

Nothing today. How Leitagu will earn money is deliberately undecided. The options considered are listed in Why join Leitagu.

How do we get access?

The Leitagu team creates your store and sends you an invite link to the partner app (partner.leitagu.ee). The link can be used once, within 14 days. As the store's owner you can then invite colleagues. See Getting access.

How do you get our product data?

You add a data connection in the partner app, and Leitagu syncs it every hour, every day or when you ask:

  • Shopify: read-only access through a custom app token.
  • Product feed: a Google Merchant Center XML feed, or a CSV or TSV file at a web address. A feed you already have for Google Shopping is usually enough.
  • CSV upload: a file you fill in from our template and upload.

Before a store connects, we may read public product pages slowly for a small test: at most one request per second, under Leitagu's own name, following robots.txt. If you would rather we didn't, we stop at once. The details are in the partner integrations guide.

Which fields do you need?

Required: a product id, name, price, a category Leitagu shows, and width, depth and height. Products without dimensions are imported but hidden from shoppers, because they can't be fitted into a room. Strongly recommended: colour, material, and stock, display cities or delivery time. Also useful: the product link, an image and the old price for sales. See What we ask from stores and Required and optional fields.

Do you take orders or handle payments?

No. Leitagu has no checkout. The customer and the sale stay with you.

Can we pay to rank higher?

No. Results are ranked by how well they match what the shopper asked for. When two products match equally, the one on sale comes first, then the cheaper one.

What statistics will we get?

The partner app's overview shows, for the last 7, 30 or 90 days and compared with the period before, how often your products were shown, opened, tried in a room, kept, saved and followed to your webshop. It also shows your most shown products, where they were shown, and the quality of your data. You see only totals, never individual shoppers. Every number is defined in Analytics definitions.

We are a small shop without a product feed. Can we take part?

Yes. Download the CSV template in the partner app, fill in one row per product, and upload it. Upload your whole range each time, because products missing from the file are hidden. See CSV upload.

We make furniture to order and delivery takes weeks. Will we be shown?

Yes, to shoppers who say timing doesn't matter. Delivery time is shown honestly on every card. Shoppers who ask for "take it home today" or "delivered within 2 weeks" won't see pieces with longer delivery, by design.

How will you use our product images?

If your product data includes an image link, the product's card shows that image, loaded from your own server; Leitagu stores only the link. Products without one show a 3D rendering built from their attributes. Product images are copyrighted, so how to show them (linking to your image files, or showing small cached thumbnails) is still to be settled with stores.

What if our data in Leitagu is wrong or out of date?

Leitagu never invents prices or stock; it shows what your data says. Fix it at the source and the next sync updates it. In the partner app you can also correct size, colour, material and other attributes, and hide a product; corrections are kept when the product syncs again. Planned: each price and stock figure will show when it was last checked, and data that can't be refreshed will show its age.

Not today. Every click already goes through a Leitagu link, so affiliate parameters could be added later. If they are, it will be disclosed.
