# Shopper guide

This guide shows how to use Leitagu to find furniture from Estonian stores that matches what you already have, fits your room and is available when you need it. It covers what to do before you start, the steps in the app, and tips for photos, colour, fit and timing. For the full detail of how matching works, see [How it works](../product/how-it-works.md).

Leitagu currently shows example products. Prices, stock and delivery times in the app are made up, and the products are marked "Example product". Use the app to try the experience, not to plan a purchase yet.

## Before you start: measure

Five minutes with a tape measure makes every later step more accurate.

- **The room:** width (the wall you will furnish), depth and ceiling height.
- **The wall you want to use:** its free length, from the corner or the nearest piece of furniture.
- **Windows on that wall:** where each one starts and how high the sill (aknalaud) is from the floor.
- **Doors:** where they are and how wide. Leave room for them to open.
- **The piece you want to match:** its width, depth and height, and what it is made of if you know (solid wood, veneer, or foil or laminate).

## Step by step

1. **Sign up and start a chat.** Today you need an account (email and password). You can run several chats at once, for example one per piece of furniture.
2. **Add your room (optional, but useful).** Pick "New room" and start from a template (living room, dining room, bedroom or empty room), or send a photo. Then open the room and correct the measurements, windows and doors, and the furniture that is already there. Changes save automatically.
3. **Say what you're looking for.** Type it in your own words, for example "hele tammest puhvet alla 400 €", or tap one of the example prompts. If your room is linked, you can tap a piece in it to search for something that matches it.
4. **Answer or skip the questions.** Leitagu asks at most four (what, size, budget, how soon) and the city if timing matters. Tap a chip, type an answer, or tap "Show results now".
5. **Read the results.** They are grouped as "Very close", "Close" and "Other options". A few products slightly over your limits may appear last, clearly marked. Click a product to see why it matches, its size, material and availability.
6. **Try it in your room.** With a room linked, the best match appears in the 3D view. Use ‹ and › to try the others in the same spot, and "Keep in room" for the ones you like. The room panel adds up the price of what you kept.
7. **Refine in plain words.** "Odavam", "tumedam", "ainult Aatrium", "täna kaasa Tartus", "45 cm sügav". Or tap a filter chip to change it, or × to remove it.
8. **Save and go to the store.** Tap ♡ to save a favourite; the Favourites page shows if its price changes. "Open in store" opens the store's own product page, where you buy.

## Tips for better results

### Taking a photo

- **Put a sheet of white paper in the photo and shoot in daylight.** Leitagu uses the paper to correct the colours, and tells you when it did.
- **Face the wall you want to furnish.** Leitagu's room model has two walls: the wall the camera faces (the back wall) and a side wall (the left wall). Furniture on other walls won't be placed correctly.
- **A close-up of one piece works too.** The room then contains just that piece, which you can use as the reference for matching.
- **Check the measurements afterwards.** Leitagu estimates sizes from typical furniture sizes. Open the room and correct anything that is off, including the ceiling height, which is always set to 260 cm.
- Photo analysis is limited to 20 photos an hour per person.

### Matching wood and colour

- **Say what matters.** "Same tone", "only the style matters" or "exact match" changes how results are ranked.
- **Name the material if it matters to you.** "Täispuit" (solid wood) or "spoon" (veneer). Watch for the note "Wood-look foil, not real wood" on a product.
- **Correct mistakes.** If Leitagu has a piece's wood wrong, tap the chip and change it. With the Claude connection you can also just say so ("it's walnut, not oak").
- **Don't trust the screen for exact tone.** Choose "See it in a store first" for pieces where colour is critical, and check which cities have the piece on display. Where the store offers samples or swatches, order one.
- **Check evening light.** Switch the 3D room to evening to see how warm light changes wood tones.

### Making it fit

- **Link your room before the size question.** For storage furniture, Leitagu then offers "Fits your room: up to N cm" based on your free wall.
- **Replacing something?** Tap the piece in your room and choose "Replace". Results then go in its place, and the size question offers "Same width as now".
- **Mark pieces as existing or planned** in the room editor. Both count as already in the room when Leitagu suggests what to add; existing pieces are preferred when it reads the room's look.
- **Look at the near misses.** A piece 5 cm over your limit may still fit; the card says exactly how much it is over.

### Getting it in time

- **Answer the "How soon?" question.** "Take it home today" and "See it in a store first" ask for your city and show only products that are in stock or on display there.
- **Read the delivery line.** Delivery over two weeks is highlighted.
- **Confirm with the store before you go.** Stock changes during the day, and Leitagu does not yet show when stock was last checked.

### Not sure what you need?

Link a room and ask "Mida siia lisada?" (What could go here?). Leitagu looks at the room type, the free wall and floor space and your existing furniture, and suggests up to four kinds of pieces with products for each. It keeps your budget and availability choices.

## When something looks wrong

- **"Nothing matches these filters."** Remove or widen a filter chip; the message says the same.
- **The room's sizes are off.** Open the room and correct them. Suggestions and the "Fits your room" chip use these numbers.
- **Leitagu didn't understand.** Try a shorter phrase like the ones above. Some phrasings, such as corrections, need the Claude connection, which may not be turned on everywhere.
- **Photo analysis is unavailable.** It needs the Claude connection. Start from a template instead and edit the room.
